Aerovent Plus FAQs
What is Aerovent used for?

Aerovent is used as a bronchodilator to help relieve symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), such as wheezing, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing.

Aerovent and Ventolin are both bronchodilators used to treat respiratory conditions such as asthma. The primary difference between the two lies in their active ingredients and mechanism of action. Aerovent contains ipratropium bromide, which is an anticholinergic agent that helps to relax and open the airways by blocking the action of acetylcholine. Ventolin, on the other hand, contains salbutamol (also known as albuterol), which is a beta-2 adrenergic agonist that works by stimulating beta-2 receptors in the lungs to relax the muscles of the airways. While both medications aim to relieve symptoms of bronchospasm, they do so through different pharmacological pathways.
