When should you not use hydrogel?
Hydrogel should not be used on wounds with heavy exudate, as it can lead to maceration of the surrounding skin. It is also not suitable for infected wounds unless used in conjunction with appropriate antimicrobial therapy. Additionally, hydrogel should not be applied to wounds with significant necrotic tissue or eschar, as it is not effective in debriding such tissue.
What is Atrapro?
Atrapro is a wound care product that contains 0.9% sodium chloride. It is used to moisten and cleanse wounds, helping to create an optimal environment for healing. It is typically applied directly to the wound or used to saturate dressings.
What kind of wound is hydrogel good for?
Hydrogel is particularly beneficial for wounds that require a moist healing environment. It is commonly used for dry or minimally exuding wounds, such as pressure ulcers, partial-thickness wounds, and minor burns. Hydrogel can also be effective for painful wounds, as it provides a cooling and soothing effect.
What are the ingredients in atrapro?
AtraPro primarily contains the active ingredient polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB). It is a wound care product used for its antimicrobial properties. Other components may include water and other excipients that help in maintaining the stability and effectiveness of the solution.
