Apadaz, a combination of benzhydrocodone and acetaminophen, is prescribed for the short-term relief of moderate to severe pain, especially when other treatments have proven ineffective. This medication includes a powerful opioid (benzhydrocodone) and a non-opioid (acetaminophen). Benzhydrocodone acts on the brain to alter the perception and response to pain, while acetaminophen can also help reduce fever. Apadaz is unique as it is the first prodrug of hydrocodone/acetaminophen approved by the FDA, which means it becomes active once inside the body. It is important to note that, like other opioids, Apadaz carries significant risks and should only be used under professional guidance for no longer than 14 days.
