PeroxiClear is a 3% hydrogen peroxide cleaning and disinfecting solution developed by Bausch + Lomb for both soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses. It features Triple-Moist Technology, combining ingredients that attract, retain, and spread moisture across the lens surface, promoting all-day comfort. The solution effectively disinfects lenses in just four hours, offering a quicker neutralization process compared to some other peroxide-based systems. However, in October 2016, Bausch + Lomb voluntarily recalled PeroxiClear in the U.S. and Canada due to internal testing that revealed occasional instances of residual hydrogen peroxide levels exceeding product specifications after neutralization. While the risk to consumers was considered low, the recall was initiated out of an abundance of caution. As a result, PeroxiClear has been unavailable in the market since then.
