Oriahnn Coupons & Discount Card - Compare Prices Near You

This medication consists of two distinct capsules. One capsule contains a combination of three active ingredients: elagolix, estradiol, and norethindrone. The second capsule contains only elagolix. It is prescribed for women who have not yet experienced menopause to help control heavy menstrual bleeding caused by uterine fibroids. Elagolix works by reducing the body's production of certain hormones, specifically luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone, which results in lower levels of female sex hormones, such as estrogens. Estradiol is included to minimize bone loss that can occur with elagolix, while norethindrone helps reduce the risk of uterine cancer associated with estradiol use.

Oriahnn Side Effects

While taking this medication, you might experience hot flashes, headaches, tiredness, or changes in your menstrual cycle. These are common and generally not a cause for concern, but if they persist or worsen, consult your healthcare provider. Hair thinning or loss can also occur, and it's unclear if hair growth will return to normal after stopping the medication.

Regularly monitor your blood pressure as this medication may cause it to rise. Report high readings to your healthcare provider. Serious side effects require immediate attention, such as breast lumps, mood changes, signs of liver damage (persistent nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, yellowing skin/eyes, dark urine), unusual vaginal bleeding, or symptoms of high blood sugar (increased thirst/urination).

Seek urgent medical help for very serious effects like suicidal thoughts or symptoms indicating blood clots (shortness of breath, chest pain, sudden dizziness, leg pain/swelling, severe headaches, speech difficulties, weakness on one side, sudden vision changes). Low estrogen levels from this medication could lead to bone loss (osteoporosis), which might be permanent with prolonged use. Discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare provider and consider calcium and vitamin D supplements for bone health.

Allergic reactions are rare but can be serious. Look out for rashes, swelling (especially of the face, tongue, or throat), severe dizziness, or trouble breathing, and seek immediate medical assistance if these occur. This is not an exhaustive list of side effects; contact your healthcare provider if you notice other unusual symptoms.
