Trimethobenzamide Side Effects

You may experience some common side effects such as diarrhea, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, muscle cramps, or mild irritation at the injection site. These effects are usually temporary, but if they persist or worsen, please consult your healthcare provider.

In rare instances, more serious side effects may occur. These include confusion, muscle spasms, uncontrolled movements (particularly in the face, mouth, tongue, arms, or legs), shaking, restlessness, drooling, severe arching of the back, mouth sores, unusual bleeding or bruising, changes in mood or mental state such as depression, yellowing of the eyes or skin, and dark urine. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.

Seizures are considered a very serious side effect and require immediate medical help. Additionally, although rare, a severe allergic reaction may occur. Watch for symptoms such as a rash, itching or swelling (especially of the face, tongue, or throat), severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing, and get emergency medical assistance if they arise.

It is important to remember that not everyone will experience these side effects, and this list is not exhaustive. If you notice any other unusual symptoms, please reach out to your healthcare provider for further guidance.

Interactions

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using any other substances that might make you sleepy. This includes opioid painkillers or cough suppressants like codeine and hydrocodone, alcohol, marijuana, sleep aids or medications for anxiety such as Alprazolam, Lorazepam, or Zolpidem, muscle relaxants like Carisoprodol or Cyclobenzaprine, and antihistamines such as Cetirizine or diphenhydramine. Be sure to review the labels on all your medications, including those for allergies or cold symptoms, as they might contain ingredients that induce drowsiness. Consult your pharmacist on how to use these products safely.
