Clioquinol (also known as iodochlorhydroxyquin) is an antibiotic that works by preventing the growth of fungus/bacteria. Hydrocortisone is a mild corticosteroid that works by reducing the swelling, redness, and itching that occurs in the affected skin. This medication should not be used by children younger than 2 years.

Ala-quin Side Effects

Dry skin may occur. If this effect lasts or gets worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a new infection. Contact your doctor if you notice any new symptoms on the skin. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
