Beclomethasone is used to prevent and control symptoms (wheezing and shortness of breath) caused by asthma. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids. It works by reducing the swelling of the airways in the lungs to make breathing easier. This medication must be used regularly to prevent breathing problems (attacks of wheezing/shortness of breath). It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve an asthma attack. If an attack occurs, use your quick-relief inhaler as prescribed.

What is Qvar RediHaler used for?

Qvar RediHaler is used for the maintenance treatment of asthma. It helps to prevent and control symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath by reducing inflammation in the airways. It is not intended for the relief of acute asthma attacks.

Qvar is being discontinued due to a strategic decision by the manufacturer, which may involve factors such as market demand, production costs, or the introduction of newer alternatives. Patients using Qvar should consult their healthcare provider to discuss alternative treatment options.

Qvar RediHaler and Flovent are not the same, although both are inhaled corticosteroids used to manage asthma. Qvar RediHaler contains beclomethasone dipropionate, while Flovent contains fluticasone propionate. They have similar purposes but differ in their active ingredients and specific formulations.

Qvar is an inhaled corticosteroid. It is used to help control and prevent asthma symptoms by reducing inflammation in the airways.

Beclomethasone is considered a medium-potency corticosteroid. It is commonly used to reduce inflammation in conditions such as asthma and allergic rhinitis.
