Sulfacetamide-prednisolone Warnings

Eye Problems: Prolonged use of sulfacetamide/prednisolone can increase the likelihood of developing new or worsening eye issues, such as infections, glaucoma, cataracts, increased eye pressure, and vision impairment. If you are using this medication for more than 10 days, regular eye examinations are necessary to monitor eye health. Report any changes in vision, eye pain, or signs of infection to your healthcare provider promptly. Individuals with a history of glaucoma, cataracts, viral eye infections, or recent eye surgery are at increased risk.
Possible Eye Injury or Damage: Steroid eye drops, including sulfacetamide/prednisolone, may cause eye injury or damage, such as corneal thinning. Immediate consultation with a healthcare provider is advised if you experience vision changes, eye pain, or excessive tearing. Long-term use of steroids in the eye heightens these risks.
