Do not use this medication if you smoke cigarettes/use tobacco and are over 35 years old. Smoking raises your risk of stroke, heart attack, blood clots, and high blood pressure from hormonal birth control (such as the pill, patch, ring). The risk of these serious problems increases with age and with the number of cigarettes you smoke. Do not smoke or use tobacco.

Remember that this medication has been prescribed because your doctor has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects. This medication may raise your blood pressure. Check your blood pressure regularly and tell your doctor if the results are high. Interactions

Some products that may interact with this drug include: aromatase inhibitors (such as anastrozole, exemestane), fezolinetant, ospemifene, tamoxifen, tizanidine, tranexamic acid. Some drugs may cause hormonal birth control to work less well by decreasing the amount of birth control hormones in your body. This effect can result in pregnancy. Examples include griseofulvin, modafinil, rifamycins (such as rifampin, rifabutin), ritonavir, St. John's wort, drugs used to treat seizures (such as barbiturates, carbamazepine, felbamate, phenytoin, primidone, topiramate), HIV drugs (such as nelfinavir, nevirapine), among others. Tell your doctor when you start any new drug, and discuss if you should use reliable backup birth control. Also tell your doctor if you have any new spotting or breakthrough bleeding, because these may be signs that your birth control is not working well. This medication may interfere with certain lab tests (such as blood clotting factors, thyroid), possibly causing false test results. Make sure lab personnel and all your doctors know you use this drug.
Norgestim-eth Estrad Triphasic FAQs
Is Tri-Sprintec high in estrogen?

Tri-Sprintec contains a moderate amount of estrogen. It is a combination oral contraceptive that includes both ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen) and norgestimate (a progestin). The estrogen component in Tri-Sprintec is not considered high compared to other oral contraceptives, but it is important for individuals to consult with their healthcare provider to determine the most appropriate contraceptive option based on their specific health needs and concerns.

Tri-Lo is a brand of oral contraceptive that can be effective for birth control when taken as directed. Its suitability depends on individual health factors and personal preferences. It is important for individuals to consult with a healthcare provider to determine if Tri-Lo is the right choice for them, considering any potential side effects and their medical history.

Tri-Sprintec and Sprintec are both combination oral contraceptives, but they differ in their hormone dosing schedules. Tri-Sprintec is a triphasic pill, meaning it has three different levels of hormones throughout the cycle, which can mimic the natural menstrual cycle more closely. Sprintec, on the other hand, is a monophasic pill, providing the same dose of hormones in each active pill. This difference can affect how the body responds to the medication and may influence side effects or preferences for some users.

Tri-Lo-Sprintec has been discontinued. Patients using this medication should consult their healthcare provider for alternative options.

Tri-Lo-Sprintec is a combination oral contraceptive that many find effective for preventing pregnancy when taken as directed. It contains both estrogen and progestin, which work together to inhibit ovulation, thicken cervical mucus, and alter the uterine lining. However, whether it is a "good" birth control option can vary depending on individual health needs, side effects, and personal preferences. It is important for individuals to consult with their healthcare provider to determine if Tri-Lo-Sprintec is suitable for them, considering their medical history and lifestyle.
