Ruxolitinib cream is prescribed for treating specific skin conditions, including eczema (atopic dermatitis) and vitiligo. Eczema is characterized by red, inflamed, and itchy skin due to an allergic reaction. Vitiligo occurs when the immune system targets the skin cells responsible for pigmentation. This medication helps alleviate symptoms by reducing the activity of the skin's immune system. Ruxolitinib is part of a group of medications known as kinase inhibitors.
