By blocking these kinases, Rydapt helps to slow down or stop the growth of cancer cells, particularly in conditions like acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with FLT3 mutations and systemic mastocytosis.
Is midostaurin a chemo drug?
Yes, midostaurin is considered a type of chemotherapy drug. It is a targeted therapy used to treat certain types of cancer, such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and advanced systemic mastocytosis.
What is the indication for Rydapt?
Rydapt is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who have a FLT3 mutation, as detected by an FDA-approved test. It is also indicated for the treatment of adults with aggressive systemic mastocytosis (ASM), systemic mastocytosis with associated hematological neoplasm (SM-AHN), or mast cell leukemia (MCL).
