  • Nervous System Issues: Cycloserine (Seromycin) may cause drowsiness, headaches, tremors, balance difficulties, muscle weakness, and confusion. More severe effects include seizures, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and mood or behavior changes. Higher risk is associated with daily doses over 500 mg, heavy alcohol consumption, kidney issues, and concurrent use of Trecator (ethionamide) or isoniazid.

  • Heart Failure Risk: High doses of cycloserine (Seromycin), particularly 1 to 1.5 grams per day, have been linked to sudden heart failure, where the heart is unable to pump effectively. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms like worsening shortness of breath, swelling in the abdomen or legs, sudden weight gain, fatigue, or dizziness.

  • Vitamin Deficiencies: Cycloserine (Seromycin) may lead to low levels of vitamin B12 and folic acid, potentially resulting in anemia.
