Urimar-t Side Effects
You might experience some common side effects like nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, or constipation. These are generally mild, but if they persist or worsen, it's advisable to inform your doctor or pharmacist. To ease dry mouth, consider sucking on sugarless candy or ice chips, chewing sugarless gum, drinking water, or using a saliva substitute.
Additionally, you may notice your urine and sometimes stools turning blue-green. This is a harmless effect and will fade once you stop the medication. It's important to understand that most people using this medication do not experience serious side effects.
However, be vigilant for more serious effects such as hot, dry, or flushed skin, reduced sweating, eye pain, difficulty urinating, or signs of kidney issues like changes in urination or painful urination. Promptly reach out to your doctor if these occur.
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience very severe symptoms such as easy bruising or bleeding, black or tarry stools, severe stomach or abdominal pain, vomit resembling coffee grounds, or signs of liver problems like persistent nausea, unusual tiredness, dark urine, or yellowing of the eyes or skin.
This medication can rarely cause a hypertensive crisis, a potentially fatal condition. Alert symptoms include severe headache, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, neck stiffness, severe nausea, clammy skin, widened pupils, vision changes, or sudden sensitivity to light. Immediate medical help is crucial if these symptoms arise.
Though rare, a serious allergic reaction is possible. Symptoms may include a rash, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing. Contact medical services immediately if these occur. This summary does not cover all possible side effects, so consult your healthcare provider if you notice other unusual symptoms.
Interactions
This medication can interact with several other products, which can affect how it works or increase the risk of side effects. Some of these products include Apraclonidine, Atomoxetine, bupropion, Carbamazepine, dichlorphenamide, Methotrexate, Mifepristone, potassium capsules or tablets, pramlintide, Tetrabenazine, certain Parkinson's disease medications (like Entacapone, Levodopa, Tolcapone), and specific high blood pressure medications (such as guanethidine, Methyldopa). It also interacts with sulfonamide drugs, including sulfa antibiotics like Sulfamethoxazole, as well as sympathomimetics like amphetamine and ephedrine. Products that reduce acid in the urine, such as antacids, Sodium Bicarbonate, potassium/sodium citrate, and Acetazolamide, may also interact with this medication.
There is an increased risk of bleeding if this medication is taken with other drugs that can also cause bleeding. These include anti-platelet medications like Clopidogrel and blood thinners such as Dabigatran, Enoxaparin, and Warfarin.
Using other MAO inhibitors with this medication can lead to a severe, possibly life-threatening, drug interaction. Avoid taking MAO inhibitors like isocarboxazid, Linezolid, Metaxalone, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, Rasagiline, safinamide, Selegiline, and Tranylcypromine during treatment with this medication. Most MAO inhibitors should not be taken for two weeks before or after using this medication. Consult your doctor for specific guidance on when to start or stop any of these drugs.
Before using this medication, inform your doctor of any other drugs that could cause a dangerously high blood pressure when combined with it. This includes herbal products like ephedra or ma huang, nasal decongestants such as phenylephrine or pseudoephedrine, stimulants like amphetamines, ephedrine, or Epinephrine, and diet aids. These should not be used together with this medication. For more information, speak with your doctor or pharmacist.
If you are taking azole antifungal medications such as Itraconazole or Ketoconazole, ensure you take this medication at least two hours after the antifungal drug.
Carefully check the labels of all prescription and over-the-counter medications, as many contain pain relievers or fever reducers (such as Aspirin or NSAIDs like Ibuprofen, Ketorolac, or Naproxen) that are similar to salicylate. Taking them together may increase your risk of side effects. However, if your doctor has advised you to take low-dose aspirin to prevent heart attacks or strokes (usually 81-162 milligrams daily), continue taking it unless directed otherwise by your doctor. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more detailed advice.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using other products that can cause drowsiness, including alcohol, marijuana (cannabis), antihistamines (such as Cetirizine or diphenhydramine), sleep or anxiety medications (like Alprazolam, Diazepam, or Zolpidem), muscle relaxants, and opioid pain relievers (such as codeine).
Review the labels on all your medications, including allergy or cough-and-cold products, as they might contain ingredients that cause drowsiness. Consult your pharmacist on how to use these products safely.
This medication may interfere with certain lab tests, potentially leading to false results. Ensure that all your healthcare providers and lab personnel are aware that you are using this medication.
