Valtrex Side Effects
You might experience mild side effects such as nausea, stomach pain, headache, or dizziness. These are generally not a cause for concern. However, if they persist or worsen, it's important to consult your healthcare provider. Most people taking this medication do not experience serious side effects, but it's crucial to be aware of them.
Some serious side effects include signs of kidney problems, such as changes in urine output or unusual back or side pain, as well as mental or mood changes like agitation, confusion, or hallucinations. Other symptoms to watch for include unsteady movements, unusual tiredness, rapid heartbeat, easy bruising or bleeding, new fever, bloody or dark urine, severe stomach or abdominal pain, and yellowing of the eyes or skin. If you experience any of these, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
In rare cases, very serious side effects may occur, such as sudden changes in vision, difficulty speaking, loss of consciousness, or seizures. Seek medical attention promptly if you experience these symptoms. Allergic reactions to this medication are uncommon, but immediate medical help is necessary if you notice a rash, severe itching or swelling, particularly of the face, tongue, or throat, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.
This list does not include all possible side effects. If you notice any other unusual symptoms, reach out to your healthcare professional for advice.
