Eq Aspirin Low Dose Side Effects
Some individuals may experience mild side effects such as an upset stomach or heartburn, which are generally not a cause for concern. However, if these symptoms persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional. Most people taking this medication experience no serious side effects.
In some cases, more serious side effects can occur. You should seek medical attention if you experience severe or persistent nausea or vomiting, unusual bleeding or bruising, hearing difficulties, ringing in the ears, signs of kidney issues like changes in urine output, unexplained fatigue, dizziness, dark urine, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
Though rare, this medication may cause serious bleeding in the stomach or intestines. Urgent medical help is needed if you notice severe abdominal pain, black stools, vomit resembling coffee grounds, sudden vision changes, difficulty speaking, weakness on one side of the body, or a sudden severe headache.
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare but requires immediate medical attention. Symptoms may include fever, swollen lymph nodes, rash, itching or swelling (especially of the face, tongue, or throat), severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. This is not an exhaustive list of side effects. If you experience any other unusual symptoms, contact a healthcare provider.
Interactions
Certain medications and products can interact with this drug. These include acetazolamide, other blood thinners like warfarin and heparin, corticosteroids such as prednisone, dichlorphenamide, herbal supplements like ginkgo biloba, methotrexate, mifepristone, and valproic acid. Before taking this medication, speak with your doctor if you have recently had any live vaccines, such as the chickenpox or live flu vaccine.
Be sure to read the labels on all your prescription and nonprescription medications carefully, as many contain pain relievers or fever reducers, including aspirin and NSAIDs like ibuprofen, ketorolac, and naproxen. These medications are similar to this one and using them together may increase your risk of side effects. Daily use of NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen, might reduce aspirin's effectiveness in preventing heart attacks or strokes. If you are using low-dose aspirin for this purpose, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about alternative pain or fever treatments, like acetaminophen.
This drug may interfere with certain lab tests, such as urine sugar tests, potentially causing false results. Ensure that your healthcare providers and lab technicians know you are taking this medication.
