Regular monitoring of eye pressure is recommended, especially if you have a history of glaucoma.
Cataracts: Loteprednol (Lotemax) may cause cataracts. Notify your healthcare provider promptly if you experience worsening vision or see glares or halos around lights at night. It is permissible to use this medication following cataract surgery, but not for longer than two weeks, and regular follow-up with your provider is advised.
New or Worsened Infections: As loteprednol (Lotemax) can suppress the immune system, it may increase the risk of fungal or viral eye infections. If your eye condition worsens or symptoms do not improve within a few days, consult your provider immediately. Follow-up is necessary if you require a prescription refill. This risk is heightened with prolonged use or a history of herpes eye infection.
