  • Heart-Related Risks: Usage of naratriptan can occasionally lead to significant heart issues, including heart attacks and irregular heartbeats, especially within hours of taking the medication. It may also cause a dangerous increase in blood pressure. Individuals with a history of heart problems, those over 65, people with diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and smokers are at increased risk.

  • Stroke and Brain Injuries: There is a risk of serious brain events, such as strokes or bleeding, particularly in those with a history of strokes. It is crucial to inform your healthcare provider about any previous strokes or brain injuries before using this medication.

  • Blood Vessel Constriction: Naratriptan can cause severe narrowing of blood vessels, resulting in significant issues in the stomach (such as pain or bloody diarrhea), vision changes, or altered sensations in the extremities. If you experience symptoms like color changes in your hands or feet, stop taking the medication and consult with your healthcare provider immediately.
